About the project
The citizen science project Obtectus Finders aims to capture seed beetles from various locations in order to analyze the genetic diversity of their populations. Our scientists can collect beetles from several natural populations, but there are too few of us to sample them from enough places. This is why we need your help. Our project gives people of all ages and backgrounds the chance to participate in real scientific research. Many has joined by sending us samples that you can see on the map.The sample you sent us will directly contribute to the seed beetle genetic research and help us detect the distribution of this pest insect. This project is supported by Center for the Promotion of the Science and by the grant “Start Up For Science”
